Ocupational Health, Safety and Rehabilitation Policy

Colab Construction prioritises the well-being of our employees and all other parties affected by our work regardless of the task at hand. We acknowledge our employees' health and safety are our utmost responsibility, and place equal importance on the public, our sub-contracting partners and our clients across projects regardless of scale.

We support injured workers in returning to work as soon as medically appropriate and adhere to the Workers' Compensation and Injury Management Act 1981. We also acknowledge that mental safety in the workplace is just as important as physical safety and implement strategies to support our employees to maintain their mental health.

The Directors recognise that injury management success depends on active participation, and we aim to arrange suitable duties considering medical restrictions if incidents were to arise.

The objectives of our company are:

  • To be an accident free workplace

  • To make health and safety an integral part of every position

  • To ensure health and safety is considered in all planning and work activities

  • To involve our employees in the decision-making process through regular communication, consultation and training

  • To provide a continuous program of education and training to ensure that our employees and contractors work in the safest possible manner

  • To identify and control all potential hazards in the workplace through hazard identification and risk analysis

  • To ensure all potential accidents/incidents are controlled and prevented
