Since 2016, Colab Construction has steadily grown to become one of the leading commercial construction providers in the Great Southern region of Western Australia.

The business was founded by Adam Wheeler, a registered builder since January 2014 with over 30 years of experience. Adam is recognised as one of the leading minds in commercial construction in the region.

In 2021, Benjamin Oberthur became a Director of Colab Construction after having been employed by the business since inception. Benjamin is a proud Kamilaroi man who reconnected to his birth family in 2012 and had traced his ancestral heritage to Wollumbin Country in NSW. He has lived his whole life on Noongar Country, moving to WA with his adopted family in the late 70’s. Benjamin has strong connections to the Menang people with relationships built through school, work, church and sporting communities; and a deep spiritual connection to the lands and waterways of the Kinjarling region.

The depth of experience of our staff, both onsite and in the office, ensures consistently successful building outcomes. Colab Construction has an in-house project administration team and carpentry team, and collaborates with clients, architects, designers, sub-contractors, and other building industry personnel to always deliver a quality result.

We are currently pre-qualified with the Department of Finance to tender for non-residential building works up to and including Financial Level 2 – $3 million, and as a Service and Alliance 2012 Supplier for Building and Contracts. We also undertake new builds with the Department of Communities and refurbishments as a service provider for Programmed Facilities Management.
